In 2016, Just Another implemented ‘Hit the Streets‘, a graffiti education and prevention project aimed to provide opportunities for young people to develop and showcase their aerosol art skills in a legal environment.
Over the last seven year’s the project connected Just Another’s prolific graffiti artists Cax One, Dvate, Sear, Resio, Shem and Alex Sugar to educate participants in letter form, style, technique, composition, and colour theory. The artists provide guidance and insight into the commercial world within the creative industry and mentor participants as they take their concept from idea to a fully executed mural.
The educational element of the project encourages participants from the ages of 12 to 21 to engage positively in the art form and helps reduce and prevent vandalism in targeted areas of the city.
The program concludes with murals painted within the multiplicity by the participants with the help of the mentors.
