Title: Carrot Man from Behind

Bio: VKM is an Australian arist with a photography-based practice that extends into the intricate realms of monotone stencil art. Her artistic expression is a blend of studio creations and public installations, all captivating a sense of fluidity and motion, characterized by their striking level of detail. She employs aerosol, Japanese inks, and mixed media in her works.

An enduring fascination with how we inhabit and interact within urban spaces is a constant theme that interlaces through her body of work. The figurative elements within her pieces are captured spontaneously on the streets, serving as a reflec0ve canvas of the dynamic essence of the cityscapes and neighborhoods she traverses. “My art is borne of the moments captured through my lens. Forever enchanted by monochrome street photography; I recreate and re-define the moving moments and put them back on the streets”.

Artwork Statement: ‘Carrot Man’ is part of the fabric of Melbourne and lives near my studio in Fitzroy. Like everyone, the man pounding the pavement with a giant carrot wrapped in his arms captured my imagination. I was compelled to freeze and recreate the essence of that unexpected moment of him passing by. The carrot slightly bouncing and the random joy it evokes as he weaves his way down city street
