By: Claire Foxton
Medium: Acrylic, graphite and wax pastel
Bio: Claire is an Wollongong-based muralist, artist and designer who is most known for her large body of public art found across Australia, New Zealand and the United States. While her mural works explore a site-specific narrative, often exploring the connectedness of people and place, her fine art practice instead draws the viewer inward. Layered with various techniques and mediums, and a distinct mix of abstraction and realism, Claire’s work explores the meeting point of order and chaos. Her process, often stream-of-conscious like, becomes an allegory for an inner dialogue, attempting to make sense of the dualities and contradictions that govern us.
