Artist statement: “This piece is the result of a new technique I am using within my work, focusing the detail and true colour on specific sections with the rest of the painting in a 1 colour tonal value to overall highlight and draw your eyes to the desired area of the subject matter.”

Artist Bio: Sugar is a Perth-born artist currently based in Melbourne who has been passionate about drawing Alex Sugar is well-known for his realism in painting native flora and fauna in conjunction with objects that consider the concept of time and place. He draws these elements together with a slightly surreal twist.
