Artist Statement: “I can’t describe the kind of pleasure I get from sayings like this. The words brim with optimistic energy and authenticity while at the same time are just hilarious nonsense. In a strange way it makes me yearn for home and this piece reflects that.”
Artist Bio: Mikey is a craftsman and a designer based in Melbourne.
He is an everyman by trade, producing unique furniture pieces, metal fabrication, woodwork, sign-painting and general makery from his Preston studio.
Community and love form the heart of his work. The duty of care and support; of family, of mates and of self, all mashed together with some good design and a hopeful spirit.
