Molly’s visual storytelling is accompanied by bursts of colour, bold lines, and an intuitive ability to capture a story or person that sets her work apart. Her creative process is inspired by growing up in Wyndham, a small regional town with her creative parents; one a storyteller and one an artist. A proud Balanaggarra and Yolngu woman, her passion and drive comes from her commitment to being a role model to her 10 younger siblings. Before developing her career in illustrations and mural work, Molly first made a name for herself as a journalist as well as a radio and tv presenter.
Today Molly has gravitated towards youth mural work in remote communities, an exciting project that she is pioneering in her local area. In consultation with the people and Elders, these murals are driven by youth for youth. Molly is also emerging into the world of book illustrations, as she’s published her first illustrative book ‘This Book Thinks Ya Deadly’, a celebration of Blak excellence, in collaboration with Deadly Science founder Corey Tutt.
