Lachlan is a typographic based illustrator, designer and wall painter, currently based in his inner-north Melbourne studio where he works in both digital and traditional mediums. Lachlan finds inspiration in traditional sign painting and vintage signage. Each project reflects Lachlan’s dedication to storytelling through typography, capturing streetscape nostalgia while bridging the gap between art and commerce in today’s visual culture.
His portfolio spans collaborations with corporate giants and local businesses, showcasing his timeless charm in both digital and traditional mediums, particularly in large-scale murals and signs.He has designed and painted murals for Bonds and Latrobe University as well as a range of small businesses.
Studying different fonts and embellishments applied with a range of traditional methods and contemporary effects, Lachlan’s work achieves a dimensionality in his messaging with the creative compositions and sensibilities of graffiti and graphic design. He continually pushes to achieve a depth within his work that responds to its setting, compliments each specific client, and amplifies a message.
