Confluence is a sculptural public artwork by Julian Clavijo, commissioned as part of the Mandurah Foreshore Redevelopment. Inspired by the movement, flow and interconnectedness of the region’s waterways, the work transforms existing infrastructure into a series of immersive ripple-like forms that respond to the surrounding landscape.
Developed as both a visual landmark and a place-based experience, the artwork integrates sculptural panels, lighting and layered surface treatments to create a dynamic intervention within the foreshore precinct. Drawing on the rhythms of water and the meeting of natural and urban environments, Confluence invites visitors to pause, gather and engage with the site from new perspectives.
Designed for longevity within a coastal environment, the work balances artistic expression with durability, accessibility and environmental consideration, contributing to the ongoing transformation of the Mandurah Foreshore as a vibrant public destination.
