From 20 – 29 February 2020, 16,000+ people descended on The Facility in Kensington. Can’t Do Tomorrow launched and was a celebration of urban art and contemporary culture in one of the most iconic underground spaces in Australia: The Facility. Everything at the summer festival is designed to be enjoyed by people who want to immerse themselves in a new way of consuming, or being consumed by, art.
Festival goers tumbled down the rabbit hole into our immersive section, where dark dreamscapes and whimsical wonderlands lie in wait. Explore a series of fantastic environments, awe-inspiring installations and site-specific murals created by some of the biggest names in the underground urban arts scene. Just Another Director, Toby Benador was thrilled to be the curator for the festival and brought together 150+ artists, using 1474L tins of Resene and 2000+ cans of Ironlak to transform this multi-level venue, with a range of installations, murals, takeovers, exhibitions and more.
This art fair and festival allowed you to see and buy the work of notable names and emerging talent from the urban art scene. With more than 40 artists – notable names as well as emerging talent from the urban art scene – showcasing and selling work across disciplines as diverse as painting, writing, video, sculpture, installation, prints and stencil design.
Festival goers were able to meet and view the next generation of talent. Discover brave new worlds secreted in subterranean cellars. Drink craft brews and cavort to covert DJ sets.
