‘The Art Lamp’ is where light, art, and functionality converge — a lamp that transforms illumination into expression. Designed to be more than just a lamp, it’s a living artwork that evolves with you.
Handcrafted from 3mm plywood and painted with a rich black and gold finish, each lamp is built with care and precision for durability and timeless style. The warm glow of a 240V LED USB-powered light is softly diffused through gold thread paper, creating an ambient light that enhances any space. Measuring 25.5cm (H) × 16.5cm (W) × 16.5cm (D), it’s lightweight, compact, and striking in its simplicity.
The real beauty lies in its interchangeable artist panels — four 3mm black plywood inserts, each laser-cut and engraved with original Artist designs. These panels, with a visible area of 9 × 16.5cm, can be swapped at any time, allowing you to refresh your lamp with new artwork or adjust its mood to suit the moment.
Every insert has a white rice paper backing to diffuse the light and accentuate detail, casting intricate shadows that bring each design to life. The result is a perfect fusion of art and design — a collectible that illuminates creativity in every sense.
Artist: Steve Leadbeater
Bio: Like many visual artists, Steve Leadbeater has been drawing for as long as he can remember, and exhibiting since the early ‘90s. For over 20 years, Leadbeater has worked as a graphic designer, gaining a deep understanding of visual communication. His work is driven by contrasts – identity and anonymity, sensitivity and brutality, spirit and form; reflecting the immense power, vulnerability and mystery of being human – while retaining a playful naivety.
Expressive mark making imbues Leadbeater’s work with a kind of wild energy, important to convey raw emotion. Leadbeater’s work aims to connect with people, and to capture the energy of his creative process.
For Leadbeater, creating art is a cathartic experience of getting lost in a ritual of the senses, flashes of shapes and colours pass through him like music and the aromas of paint and incense hang in the air. Believing in the vital role of the viewer experience, a work is not complete until someone else has encountered it.
