Bio: Interdisciplinary artist Dominic Taranto balances a sharp modern aesthetic with precision, humour, and the ongoing expertise of his fifteen-year practice. Deeply grounded in strong technique, he creates work within multiple mediums across both visual and performing art genres that responds to contemporary issues with both passion and compassion. His love of colour is inspired by the abstract expressionists such as Pollack, Rothko, Kandinsky, Mondrian. A fascination with line work is more recently inspired by modern artists such as Angela Johal in San Francisco, Quibe in France and Chaim Machlev (DotstoLines) in Berlin.
Artist Statement: Revolver is what I think of when it comes to Melbourne iconography. It’s way more than just a place but a community. Its rich history is worth memorialising. Chaotic, fun and never-ending!
